Keep Digging
God Will Make Room
Have you ever felt like life just keeps blocking your flow?
You try one thing—it falls apart.
You move in faith—doors close.
You speak up—you're met with silence or worse, resistance.
If you’ve been there, you’re not alone. Isaac was too.
In Genesis 26, Isaac found himself re-digging the wells of his father Abraham—wells the enemy had filled. It was symbolic. He was restoring legacy, honoring the past, and trying to access the same flow that once brought provision. But even after all that, he faced contention. Then came opposition. And it would’ve been so easy to say, “I’m done.”
But he didn’t.
Isaac kept digging.
He dug a well and they fought him for it.
He moved and dug again—and they fought again.
But instead of giving up or getting stuck in bitterness, he moved forward.
And on the third try, he struck Rehoboth — the place of peace, “Now the Lord has made room for us, and we will flourish in the land.” (Genesis 26:22)
This blog is for the person who’s…
Starting over after loss or failure.
Watching others succeed while they face closed doors.
Tired of fighting for space—at work, in ministry, in life.
Wondering if they heard God wrong because it’s not going like they thought.
Digging and not seeing the water yet.
Here’s what Isaac teaches us:
You may face resistance—even while doing what’s right.
Conflict doesn’t mean you’re off course. Sometimes it means you’re right on it.You don’t have to stay where there’s strife.
You’re allowed to move. Peace is permission. Some spaces are not your assignment.God honors persistence.
Isaac didn’t just pray—he dug. He moved his feet while waiting on God.Your Rehoboth is coming.
The place you won’t have to fight for.
The space that fits.
The opportunity that flows.
The breakthrough that carries no confusion.
Devotional Prayer:
God, when I feel like giving up, remind me of Isaac.
Teach me to keep digging through dry places and disappointment.
Make room for me to flourish in peace—not by force.
And when I reach my Rehoboth, help me remember that it was You who brought the increase.
In Jesus name, Amen.
